Obituary
Our dear mother Artemis Khadiwala passed away peacefully on September 27th, at the age of 76.
She was born to the late Arthur & Anahid Derbalian on June 5th, 1946, in Jaffa, Palestine. Artemis immigrated to upstate New York from Beirut, Lebanon in 1969, and lived with her younger sister Silvia and brother George. The three of them began their journey in the United States together while their older sister Sirarpy joined them in 1976. She loved her family dearly.
Artemis married the late Nick Khadiwala in 1972, and they lived 25 beautiful years together as soul mates in both Chicago and then Littleton, CO. Artemis is survived by her two boys: Armen Khadiwala of Littleton, CO; and Alex Khadiwala of Los Angeles. She is also survived by her loving daughter-in-law Jameela Khadiwala (who thought of Artemis as her own mother) and her two grandsons (who she referred to as her princes) Nico and Dominic. Artemis was predeceased by her loving husband Nick in 1997.
Artemis was one the most determined people you would ever meet and if she told you she would do something you could consider it done. She would love to host elaborate parties and was an incredible chef. She lived for adventure and travelled all over the world with a desire to learn about different cultures, people, food and history. Artemis was a confidant and rock for so many and was always willing to listen and share her words of wisdom and inspiration. Those who know her best describe her as elegant, graceful, loving, caring, joyful, inspiring and passionate.
We miss her dearly, but we have so many wonderful memories and stories to share.
